CEF1/CEF3 really uses strings other than UTF16?

Hi, all!

Anyone uses CEF with strings differents from UTF16? CEF by default compiled with CEF_STRING_TYPE_UTF16 - it is good - but why it is done support with other string representations? It is really used or just dead code?
