Is dual-use PPAPI and NPAPI theoretically possible?

Flash is possibly the only PPAPI plugin available, with most others still NPAPI. A quick Google search doesn't turn up anyone else.

At least with current chromium, is it theoretically possible to use both PPAPI and NPAPI plugins at the same time? That would allow using PPAPI for Flash but still support NPAPI if a page wants to use QuickTime, Java, ...?

It should be possible currently but I haven't tested it. As you probably know NPAPI support is being deleted in the near future.

Yes, we have to decide between freezing our CEF3 + chromium versions to keep NPAPI support, or switch to PPAPI and lose access to all other plugins.

So far there are no signs I can see of Apple, Oracle, etc. rushing to support PPAPI but maybe that will change next month.
