OnProgressChange callback

Hello,

is there some kind of OnProgressChange-callback I could use to implement a Progress bar to show the user the progress of the page load.
Also StatusText-API for providing some kind of status bar would be appreciated.

Any hints on that ?

I found viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11350 which more less mentions this topic.

But there were no further posts. Did anybody find out more about that ?
