Is the CefGlue suitable for Word addin?

Postby JohnPong » Thu Jul 11, 2019 10:41 pm

I'm new here.
Now I would like to replace webbrowser with CefGlue.
But I don't know whether cefglue is applicable to Word addin using VSTO.
I need encapsulate cefglue in usercontrol and embed it in Word 2016 as shown in the figure.

There was a previous discussion on forum about something similar.
It can be done (either via a proxy dll or HWND reparenting), but it's a ton of work.

So suitable - not really (hard to do, big size). IWebBrowser2 for an IE (still supported) or WebView for Windows 10 looks simpler.
Not sure if bringing CEF would be a big benefit. WebCore.dll would be probably simpler (either directly or via some wrapper).
