CEF + FlashPlayer

Postby ygreen » Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:15 pm

Hi There,

I am in the process of architecting a project that will, ideally, embed a web browser as well as the current version of the FlashPlayer plug-in into a Windows/Mac/Linux/etc based platform specific binary executable. Is an approach like this possible using CEF, i.e. does CEF support rolling in third-part currently supported Chrome/Chromium browser plug-ins or source code? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. It seems that the embedded Mozilla project does this already but ideally I'd prefer to use a Chromium core for our application.

Thanks,

CEF and Chromium share the same code that searches standard locations on the hard drive to locate installed third-party plugins such as Flash. See the webkit/glue/plugins/plugin_list*.cc source files for implementation details.
