Question about release branches and production environments

Hello,

the latest branch on the download page is 2171, but newer release branches 2272 and 2357 are out for some time now. I was always under the impression one should wait until a release branch lands on the download page, before updating for a production environment. But this is not stated explicitly anywhere, so I am asking myself: am I right with that or should I update as soon as a new release branch is created and builds are available - does "release" mean "production ready" in this case?

A CEF branch is considered production ready when the associated Chromium branch reaches the stable channel (see viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10567 #3 for details). You can download newer branch builds from http://cefbuilds.com. As with any updated software you should test it with your use case to verify that there are no issues.

So from the chrome releases blog, May 25: "The stable channel has been updated to 43.0.2357.81 for Windows, Mac and Linux" means that 3.2357 is currently considered production stable.

Note that CEF builds at version 43.0.2357.81 are not yet available. You'll probably want to wait for those.

Thanks. Indeed I forgot to look at the minor number of the underlying chromium version. Moreover, I don't get notified about replies to my threads in this forum, but that's something I should be able to fix alone .

Anyway, Chromium 43.0.2357.81 is at cefbuilds.com now since 2015-06-05.
