Using jQuery with CEF and Adobe Extensions

Hello. I'm trying to develop an extension for Adobe CC After Effects HTML Panels which uses CEF. When coding the extension I'd like to be able to use jQuery to speed up building the UI (ie. adding a datepicker from jQuery UI) but I've been unable to get it to work inside of Adobe After Effects. I'm unsure if this is a limitation with After Effects or something about CEF. Obviously I'm not a programmer so I appologize if I'm not even in the right forum but I need to figure out how to untie this knot. Thanks for any help you can provide.
